Summer

Though Sugarloaf is first and foremost a skiers' mountain, and the primary focus over the next ten years will be on building the ski experience, a large part of the Sugarloaf 2020 plan is to continue to develop Sugarloaf as a four-season resort. We will explore ways to sustainably add to our core summer offerings.

For 2010-11

During the summer of 2010, we installed a new zip line course featuring a total of six lines, ranging in length from roughly 150-250 feet in length. The zip line course proved to be hugely popular from day one, and as one of the first courses of its kind in the state, garnered significant media attention throughout Maine and New England. The Zip Lines will continue operation throughout the fall and into the winter, and we will look for ways to expand this popular new offering for the summer of 2011.

Also new for 2010, we began operating the SuperQuad for scenic lift rides on Saturdays and Sundays. This offering proved to be hugely popular as well, with thousands of guests taking advantage throughout the summer. Based on initial demand for the lift rides, this attraction is likely to continue again in the summer of 2011, and we will look for opportunities to expand.
