Village

Sugarloaf's village is a unique asset among New England ski resorts. It's central location ensures that no matter where you go on the mountain, your entire group will end up back in one central location that contains restaurants, ski shops, bars, music venues, grocery stores, and a hotel. When potential guests inquire about ski and stay vacations at Sugarloaf, a top selling point is that once you park your car upon arrival, you won't get back into it again until you leave. Our goal is to build upon this asset and enhance it in its current location by making it more visually appealing, pedestrian friendly and convenient. With work over the past three years to the hotel, Main Street Bridge, and Beach, the revitalization of the village is already underway.

For Winter 2010-2011

Village revitalization will continue this year with an extensive upgrade to the exterior of the Base Lodge. New siding, paint, and rock facades will bring the Lodge up to date with other, newer buildings that have been constructed in recent years and provide a much-needed facelift to the major hub of resort life. Next 10 Years

A goal in the short term will be to work with the private owners of additional village buildings to update the exteriors in the same manner as the Base Lodge. We will also work to improve or redirect traffic patterns through the village, to reduce the amount of shuttle traffic and enhance the village experience for pedestrians. A new home for the Competition Center will also be considered in the next ten years.

The Sugarloaf Village is a vital part of the Sugarloaf experience, and over the next ten years we will work to enhance its strengths and improve its weaknesses with an ultimate goal to make one of the best resort villages in the east even better.
