Timeline

In the summer of 2007, Boyne Resorts took over the reigns at Sugarloaf. Since that time more than $11 million has been invested in capital improvements to various areas of the resort's infrastructure, and additional investments have also been made by the Town of Carrabassett Valley and the Sugarloaf Mountain Condominium Center Association. The following is a timeline of capital improvements since 2007.
2007

20 new Boyne Low-Energy Fan Guns added to snowmaking fleet

70 new Low-Energy HKD Tower Guns added to snowmaking fleet

New mid-mountain pumphouse constructed to facilitate snowmaking in summit areas

2 new Prinoth Groomers added to grooming fleet

New conveyor lift installed on the Birches to improve Learn-to-Ski experience

Large addition to Bullwinkle's, and existing building completely renovated

Entrance to Hotel redesigned and all bathrooms remodeled, through collaboration with Hotel Owners Association

$1.4 million renovation to the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center begun (funded by Town of Carrabassett Valley)

Sugarloaf Explorer Shuttle system begins operation through collaboration between Sugarloaf, Town of Carrabassett Valley and Western Maine Transportation
2008

New, sixth water pump added to snowmaking system. All five existing pumps replaced with new, high efficiency pumps

25 new Boyne Low-Energy Fan Guns added to snowmaking fleet

50 new Low-Energy HKD Tower Guns added to snowmaking fleet

All air compressors rebuilt and refurbished

Haywire and Skybound terrain parks constructed

Pipedreams Superpipe rebuilt from earth to reduce snowmaking need

Seth Wescott-designed boardercross course constructed on Sidewinder

The Beach area in front of Base Lodge rebuilt with new fire pit, stage area, and outdoor grill

All trail signage throughout the mountain replaced to improve ease of navigation for skiers

2009

Over 5000 feet of new snowmaking pipe added to snowmaking system on Gondola Line Extension, Sidewinder, Peavey Crosscut, and along the Superpipe.

$600,000 in upgrades to the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel through Hotel Owners Association. These include new Boyne Beds, new flat-panel televisions, and new furnishings throughout the Hotel.

Hole #6 rebuilt on Sugarloaf Golf Club
